How do you spell “sucks”? I know how I spell it… Lieberman.
This turncoat piece of debris continues to show what a useless contrary lout he is, as he has come out against the public option, WHICH SHOULD BE AT THE HEART OF A REAL HEALTH CARE PLAN!
Sorry but nothing else will do or matter at all. Without the option of a government run option, which all polls continue to show a sizeable majority of Americans want, any other legislation passed would be B.S., meaningless, toothless, and useless!
Okay, no one expected the inane and insane wooing of the likes of Olympia Snowe to get her to actually come across and deliver what her constituents desire, but this lowlife Lieberman (Ind-Dem? Ct.) continuously proves to be a cancer to the body politick (Connecticut voters support 64 - 30 percent giving people the option to buy health insurance from a government plan).
Of course some, such as Olympia, try to con us with the Snowe job of perhaps accepting a bill that calls for a trigger to be needed to institute this required reform. More pure B.S.
In all likelihood, the bill would be ‘constructed’ in such a manner as to see to it that the trigger never gets pulled. It would be a ‘show’ option and nothing more, resulting in the passage of more useless legislation.
The 2003 Medicare prescription drug legislation had a trigger. And while health care costs have gone higher than the Fillmore East full of Dead Heads circa 1971, the public provision in that bill has never been triggered. Yes, the system is rigged in such a way that the finger on the trigger never pulls it back far enough to fire off the salvo needed to reduce costs.
And sadly the ongoing disappointment that is President Obama, seems incapable of breaking a few legs or doing whatever is required to roust up enough votes to insure a filibuster proof bill be presented.
By playing perennial nice guy, Mr. easy going asshole president may gain little more than a wholly pyrrhic victory if any legislation is approved that does not include a real public option.
Apparently Liber-traitor thinks the bill would overburden the Government which we keep hearing can’t do anything right. As if our military never does anything right, as if Medicare, SSI, and functioning public works programs of all kinds prove anything other than the fact that our government does most things right, many exceedingly well.
It is a given, that a much higher percentage of every dollar Medicare spends on healthcare for we the people goes to healthcare, not administrative costs and other ‘overhead’ expenses. Private HMO’s take a large bite out of each dollar to administer their services, and secure the obscene wages meted out to their managers, who run operations whose primary concern is not providing health care, but making themselves profitable by denying as much health care as possible.
If a bill as watered down as the drinks at ‘Trick’s’ (Brooklyn’s premier singles bar) is what we get saddled with, we all lose and any hope for Obama will have been erased.
The lie that the government cannot deliver on healthcare is just that. It is time the choice, THE CHOICE of going to Uncle Samuel for health care, be afforded to all of we the people who desire such a choice. It should not be forced upon anyone, and no bill allowing states to opt-out should be allowed either.
Some good ol’ one size fits all states legislation is needed, no state(s) should get short shrift because of recalcitrant local legislators who have their heads so far up the asses of Health insurance industry campaign contributors that they have a better view of their intestines than the peoples need for affordable health care!
Fa Napoli, enough already! Whatever change any of us foolishly expected the new guy in the oval office to deliver has yet to be found. The same old politics and cronyism is the order of the day.
This paper mache president promised much and has delivered only cold soggy pizza to the public. All his talk of a public option was never nothing more than talk, verbal smoke and mirrors signifying ‘I’m full of shit’. Faced with real opposition to his plan, he wilted and conceded and we the conned are no closer to our bailout!
Yep, a lot of Americans need to be bailed out to keep health costs from leaving them destitute. Hey, I’m fortunate to be employed by an employer that provides a relatively comprehensive health care plan that does not burden me with health care costs that could leave someone else in possession of all that I think I own.
But most of us are not in that position. Medicare for everyone is affordable, is required, it should indeed be, a civil right in a nation as wealthy as ours! No citizen should face bankruptcy for just trying to stay healthy, to live, to pursue the happiness we are told we also have a right to.
The so-called blue dog dick Democrats need to be put on a choker chain collar and reigned in. But the milquetoast man at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. lacks the political killer instinct and the guts to fight for what is right. As politicians go, he is in many regards as bad as his pitiful predecessor, unwilling to really lead and be the boss, not everyone’s pal.
My disgust with the this system of ours, where the fix is always in and your voice cannot be heard over the babbling gaggle of special interests that really run America, has reached a new high and left me feeling pretty low about my country and it’s often inert leadership.
And with friends like Joke Liberman on ‘our’ side, were truly fucked. I suggest using the link below to read an article that details the bitter disappointment that is the execrable Mr. Lieberman. I’ll see you on the radio this coming Sunday!
