GULF OF MEXICO (The Borowitz Report) - At a time when many thought that news out of the Gulf of Mexico couldn’t get any worse, BP announced today that the oil in the Gulf needs to be changed every six months.
“The oil will need to be changed every six months or every 15,000 lies,” said the BP spokesman. “Whatever comes sooner.”
The announcement about the oil change came on the heels of BP’s decision earlier in the week to separate the Gulf into two sections, full-serve and self-serve.
Sensing that the company was staring down a deepening public relations disaster, BP CEO Tony Hayward attempted to sound a compassionate note: “If this sort of damage were being inflicted on my yacht, I would be devastated.”

This evening our only Dave THE Boogie Man returns with an all new, all singing, and all dancing 4th of July spectacular, featuring the type of music one could expect from the man who celebrates every fourth by buying a fifth on the third, and consumes it in three hours. Simply stated, the soundtrack for your holiday evening will be on RNI this evening from 8 PM Eastern, until Dave gets tired. Not to be missed.
Also a note for those of you concerned about our slow archive updating, I’ve been spectacularly lazy of late (of late?), evincing all the traits of sloth and indolence I embrace when not having to play Mr. Radio for your entertainment.
That said, our last two Extravagonzo’s are now ON LINE AND READY FOR DOWNLOADING.
I do believe our last show was another benchmark example of what we do here at our Staten Island studio, not to mention, a grand listening experience, one that should be on your PC or I-POD, so get busy downloading it already. If you missed out, be grateful for this second chance kids!
Also our somewhat abbreviated abortion of a drunken rave from a few weeks ago is also now on-line for discerning listeners to wallow in. It was silly, sick and sloppy, in short… Another Winner (in an offbeat and frenetic way), that should not be missed by sentient life forms everywhere.
I’ll be back to harass and harangue you again next week, so be prepared for our hot radio fun in the summertime this week and every week courtesy of RNI… where our high standard of standard ness is standard!

This Sunday we have another big, big show for you (well, actually, it will be about the same size as all the others) on the entirety of the 11L network.
Our computer ailments that caused us to go bye early last time around (fueled by the frenetic state the combination of Chivas and wine supplied) seem to be ‘under control’, so we shall make it to the finish line, even if we lose all functions but our microphones. I am on the air infrequently enough as is.
We have much to sort out and I am fully prepared to infotain you regardless of what the last 25 years have proven.
So join us straight up at 8PM Eastern, for another extravagant Extravagonzo (with whatever pre game filler music that will trump anything else played by music radio stations) commencing about 7:30.

Our own “Dave THE Boogie Man” substitiutes quality music for the same old, same old that makes most music radio unlistenable.
Our Apostle of power pop and more, will be mixing it up tonight, with the usual surprises and will be premiering new CD’s of good music, ‘other’ radio has yet to even acknowledge.
So sit back and diddle about with THE Boogie Man, commencing with the usual pre game silliness at 7:30 Eastern time… 11L/RNI remains your best radio buy!

60 Foot Tall Jesus Statue Destroyed After Lightning Strike
By Jamie Wednesday Jun 16, 2010 2:00pm
On Monday night a major storm blew through the greater Cincinnati area and in the trail of damage it left the famous King of Kings statue at the Solid Rock Church in Monroe destroyed Monday night.
The 62-foot tall statue of Jesus constructed out of styrofoam, wood and fiberglass resin caught on fire after the right hand of the statue was struck by lightning during the severe thunderstorms around 11:15 p.m.
The church has now vowed to rebuild the iconic statue and are even advertising on their marquee sign “he will be back”, though there is no word on rather his return would be in three days time or not.

Due to circumcisions beyond my control, I’ve been conscripted into a weekend of ‘other chores and duties’ that almost forced the cancellation of this evening’s Extravagonzo.
Fortunately for y’all, regardless of my shameful lack of show prep and other factors crucial to great radio, I shall once more embarrass myself by bring you another edition of the “A Little Bit Of Everything Radio Extravagonzo’.
I should make it back to the studio in time to kill a few hours discoursing on the pertinent and silly issues of the day, fielding and bobbling your phone calls, and otherwise chit chatting away a couple of hours for your continued dementia.
Arrive in a timely fashion this evening, as at 8 PM Eastern Time, you will be presented with radio that has the smart assed ex-Brooklynite difference… Radio NewYork International… use the links below (with WINAMP as the preferred player) to enjoy all the sentient action.

Our most recent excursion into radio’s Bermuda triangle this past Memorial Day produced the usual mix of madness you have come to cherish.
If you were one of those calling in sick due to some Bar-B-Que, or parade or some holiday gathering, redeem yourself by listening to our last show streaming 24/7, or better yet DOWNLOAD it to listen to at home or on the go. The pre-game festivities, featuring a portion of an old Dan Ingram air checked cribbed from Allan Sniffen’s wonderful weekend of classic WABC radio tapes rounds out that fun intro into our Extravagonzo.
Use the links below to access great radio. And our very special thanks to the Area 51 gang over at our old employer, WBCQ, for their significant support of 11L-RNI, and the opportunity to play some great jingles otherwise sadly retired. Many thanks to all, Dave THE Boogie Man will be in the air chair next week, I’ll be regaling you with the usual madness once more on the 13th of the month! I promise another classic so BE THERE!

It’s a very relaxed, post Bar-B-Que, who gives a darn, pre-Decoration day Extravagonzo this evening commencing about 8 PM Eastern time, unless I’ve had too much to drink (which I fully intend to be the case).
Be there as attendance is mandatory, and do call in so we can chat to you, here at Original formula RNI… Radio NewYork International (From New York no less!)
